Three Women. One Legacy. A Movement Born from Love.
Three sisters โ Jackie, Barbara, and Patti โ raised in a family where compassion was a way of life and looking after your neighbor was simply what love asked of you. That bond outlasted everything. When Jackie and Barbara passed, Patti carried their shared devotion forward, and now, the Jacara LaBelle Foundation has been created to honor them โ its very name a fusion of theirs, and of the values all three held in common.
At the heart of that devotion was a simple conviction: that both children and the elderly deserve to have their basic needs met, not as a favor, but as a fundamental human right. When the youngest and the oldest among us cannot provide for themselves, it’s up to the community to step in to uplift and provide. Jackie and Barbara said it plainly โ “No child or elder should ever have to worry about where their next meal comes from” โ and that belief still guides everything we do. Behind every empty plate is a person deserving of dignity, care, and community, and we are called to answer that need with both generosity and urgency.
Food is where our work begins. We meet that most essential need first, for underserved children and elderly individuals across our cities. From there, our care extends to healthcare access โ because no one should go without the medical attention that dignity demands, a cause made all the more personal by the sisters we lost too soon. Our third pillar is stable housing, because no child or elder should face the world without a safe place to call home.
We help all people, regardless of race, color, gender, or background, because dignity and compassion know no boundaries. Hunger and disease are no respecter of person. This work isn’t charity so much as necessity: when a community is supported at its most vulnerable points, all of us thrive. The Jacara LaBelle Foundation stands as a testament to what becomes possible when we choose to care boldly, give freely, and act with purpose. We invite you to join us in carrying these three sisters’ mission forward โ and in making sure that no child or elder is ever made to feel forgotten.
Why We Exist
Food insecurity does not discriminate. It reaches into neighborhoods we pass every day, into the lives of children who arrive at school too hungry to learn and elders who must choose between medicine and a meal. These are not invisible problems โ they are simply ones we have learned to look past.
The Jacara Foundation was established to change that.
We focus on one of the most essential and immediate needs: food. Because hunger cannot wait. Because behind every empty plate is a person who matters. And because when the most vulnerable among us are left behind, we are all diminished.
What We Believe
We believe food is a fundamental human right โ not charity, not a reward, and not something anyone should have to earn.
We believe community is most powerful when it shows up for those who cannot yet โ or can no longer โ show up for themselves.
We believe dignity looks like a warm meal, a familiar face, and the quiet assurance that someone cares.
And we believe that Jackie and Barbara were right: when we choose to act with purpose and give freely, something extraordinary becomes possible.
Who We Serve
The Jacara Foundation serves underserved children and elderly individuals in our communities โ those at the beginning and end of life’s journey who deserve the same security, dignity, and nourishment as anyone else.
We serve all people โ regardless of race, color, gender, religion, or background โ because compassion has no conditions
Join the Mission
Jackie and Barbara’s work did not end with their lives. It lives on in every meal provided, every child steadied, every elder honored.
You are part of that continuation.
Whether you volunteer, donate, partner with us, or simply spread the word โ you are choosing to care boldly. And that choice matters more than you know.
The Jacara Foundation. For the ones who need us most.
